Virtual card

Activate your virtual card - a card that can be used at any South African Mastercard accredited online store.

Activate virtual card 

1. Open the navigation menu and select ‘Your account’. 
2. The click the 'Wallet' tab at the top right of the page.
3. OR click the 'Your balance' block on the newsfeed.
4. You will be presented with two activation options,’ Virtual card’ and ‘Rewards card’. Click ‘Activate card’ in the ‘Virtual card’ window. 
5. Read and accept the T&Cs and click ‘Confirm’. 
6. Enter your name and surname in the fields provided. 
7. Enter your ID number and contact number, click ‘Confirm’. [NOTE: Your full Name, Surname, Identity Number and Mobile numbers are required in accordance with Standard Bank’s Know Your Customer requirements, and all of Standard Bank’s obligations imposed on an accountable institution in terms of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act 38 of 2001 as well as obligations imposed on Standard Bank in terms of The Protection of Constitutional Democracy Against Terrorist and Related Activities Act 34 of 2004.] 
8. Click ‘Confirm’ to activate the virtual card.
9. Card details will be displayed in virtual card window.

Cancel your virtual card 

1. Open the navigation menu  and select ‘Your account’. 
2. Click the three dots in the virtual card window. 
3. Select ‘Cancel’ and then ‘Yes, continue’ to cancel the card. 

Card limit

To view card daily limits and current balance, click the three dots in the reward card window and select ‘Card limit’.

Daily/transaction limit: R 25 000

Monthly limit: R 25 000

Useful tip: 

3D Secure code

*Should you be prompted to enter a 3D secure code, a code will sent via SMS to the registered cellphone number on your profile. To update your cell number, contact your program administrator.
