Send recognition
Managers and colleagues are encouraged to foster an environment in which all employees’ talents and efforts are acknowledged. An easy way to convey that acknowledgment is by sending a recognition. Recognition is a peer-to-peer message: sent by one user to another, to praise, thank, and show appreciation for actively embracing the company values. Recognitions may be augmented with a reward element. Recognitions with rewards must be reviewed and approved or converted by a budget manager / user approver.
Without reward
Creating your recognition post
- Click on the ‘Send recognition’ button located just above your newsfeed. The 'Send recognition’ dialog will open.
- Select the name of the program from the dropdown menu. The dropdown menu will contain all the programs that have been created for your campaign.
- Program information will be displayed once you have made a selection.
- Choose one or more recipients by selecting the contact book
and checking the boxes next to recipient names. If you have many contacts, use the search feature
to find your recipients. Once you are happy with your selection, click ‘Add’.
- Choose a core value (program metric) from the dropdown menu to associate with your recognition. A recognition must be associated with one of the program’s core values / program metrics. (Program metrics are set up by program admins when they create a program.) Program metric information will be displayed once a selection has been made.
- Create your recognition message by typing in the ‘Message’ field. Be sure to highlight what the recipient has done in order to merit your recognition so that they and others can repeat that action or behavior.
- You may add images
and emojis
to your recognition message to make it even more personal. You may upload a maximum of 9 pictures at 5MB per image.
- If you have chosen NOT to add a reward (see: With reward), review your recognition details and click on the ‘Post’ button.
With reward
You may nominate a recognition recipient for a reward from the program budget. This will require budget manager approval, which may not happen immediately.
- Click ‘Add reward’ and select a reward amount from the dropdown menu.
- Click ‘Send for approval’ and the relevant budget manager for that program will be notified of a pending review.
- NOTE: If you are a budget manager, you will be able to award on-the-spot rewards directly from your budget, without the usual approval process.
The receiving user will get an email notification and an in-app notification (bell icon ).

Edit a recognition
You are able to change/update the user, the metric, the message, and images.
- Find the recognition you sent in the newsfeed and click the three dots on the top right of the recognition
.
- A box will appear with the option to edit or delete the recognition.
- Click ‘Edit’ to make changes to your recognition post.
- Once you are happy with the changes, click ‘Update’.
Deleting a recognition
- Find the recognition you sent in the newsfeed and click the three dots on the top right of the recognition
.
- A box will appear with the option to edit or delete the recognition.
- Click ‘Delete’. You will be asked to confirm deletion and to provide a reason for deletion.
- Click ’Confirm delete’ to remove the recognition.
Note:
Only the sender and administrators are able to delete recognitions.
If a recognition with reward is deleted, the funds will be reversed into the budget it came from. If there are insufficient funds available, you will not be able to delete the recognition.
